The Questions

So, being pregnant kinda reminds me of being engaged, since everybody likes to ask lots of questions.  So, in case you were wondering, here are the answers to the top questions:

1)  Yes, I am still going to work after Kiley comes.  I get 12 weeks of maternity leave & then Brad will start his full time stay-at-home dad duties!

2)  Yes, I am okay with Brad being the one to stay home.  We decided that together, actually a long time before we even got pregnant.  I have no problems leaving my baby with her parent.  It's what works for us & I don't mind teaching Kiley to do what is best even if it's not what everybody else is doing.  (I think it's funny when people find out Brad's gonna stay home & then ask me if I'm okay with that....I wish I had some really sarcastic answer for that.)

3)  No, we haven't done anything with her room yet.  First we have to clean out our office & move the guest bed in there & then the guest room we have now will turn into Kiley's room.  Seriously, people, there's time...it'll get done :)  We do know that we're doing a Storybook/Nursery Tales theme for her room.  (See below for pictures)   We're still debating paint colors...

4)  Yes, we are going to find out what we are having (guess you already figured that one out!LOL)

Almost halfway there!

So, we are almost halfway there!  I'm 19 weeks this week.  Here is the latest picture of the belly:

I promise it looks bigger in real life!  Everyone keeps telling me I'm not showing at all, so apparantly I always have the little pooch going on!LOL  My niece told me I'm starting to look bigger, so that settles it, because she just says what she is thinking.  Actually, in maternity clothes I do look more pregnant...some kind of optical illusion or something...

I'm starting to feel Kiley move around.  It's pretty cool.  Sometimes I'm not sure if it's her or just some wierd stomach rumbling (hey, this is my first time having a little person rolling around inside me...I'm not entirely sure what it's supposed to feel like!LOL)

I had a dream last night that we had another ultrasound & Kiley was most definitely not a girl!  The next ultrasound is Nov. 15, so I'll let ya know :)  My next doctor's appt. is right before Thanksgiving...it's almost Thanksgiving time again!!  crazy!  I can't believe I'm almost to the 1/2 way mark too.  crazy!  I'm thankful for each day that I wake up pregnant & each night that I go to bed pregnant.

Okay, that's enough of my ramblings for now!

And her name is...

I am actually quite surprised that we decided on a name so quickly.  We did think it would be cool to use a "C" name (because then we'd be A, B, & C), but we just weren't crazy about many girl's names that start with C.  Long story short, we discovered the name Kiley & liked it.  It means "attractive" or "she who is pretty".  We aren't concerned with physical appearances (I mean, really, have you seen how much either of us puts into our looks!LOL)  We will teach her that her beauty comes from the inside.  We picked Ann for the middle name because we thought it sounds good & it means "gracious".  Added bonus:  both Brad's & My middle names are 3 letters, so maybe a new family tradition?
So, there you have it:  Kiley Ann Seaton.

Latest Pictures

 Here are the latest pictures of our baby daughter taken last week at 17 weeks.  (I'm only posting a few...the pictures don't do her justice & some are downright creepy looking.  It's much more fun to actually see her moving around on the ultrasounds!)  They said everything is looking good so far.  We should get the results of the 2nd trimester bloodwork sometime this week.  We go back mid-November for another ultrasound where they'll be able to see more since she'll be a little bigger by then.  We say she's perfect though :)

Also, we are still thinking of names, but we aren't revealing anything until we've decided...just so we aren't swayed by what others think :)  And I don't want to start doing any major decorating until at least 1 more ultrasound confirms she really is a girl...I know, I'm parnoid :)

IT'S A .........

So, we had another ultrasound today.  This is the one we were supposed to get to find out the gender.  Well, at first baby was being kinda stubborn & was sitting indian style so the tech couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl...not even a guess.  So, I was starting to think we weren't going to get to find out.  So she sat me up & had me drink some water.  Then the doctor came in & he told us right away what it is.  We also got to see it's heart up closer which was kinda cool.  We got more pictures but I'll post those later.  We are just getting back from our trip to Oklahoma.  Oh yeah, so I guess you wanna know what we're having...it's a GIRL!!  We are excited.  I'm just really glad we got to find out (but I'll feel better after it's confirmed 3 or 4 times!LOL)  So now we are trying to think of names...girl names are harder for us for some reason.  Oh well, I guess we have time :)

Grrrr...

My work started giving flu shots today.  So, me being pregnant and all (& being terrified of the flu & other infectious diseases) I was there first thing.  So I fill out the form, they send me back & I get to the nurse and just wanting to make sure, ask if I can still get a flu shot if I'm pregnant (that was one of the questions on the form).  She's like "Oh, well, we need a note from your doctor."  Grr...so in the billions of e-mails that they sent out telling people to get their flu shot or else, couldn't they have mentioned that if you're pregnant you need a note?  I'm sure I'm not the only pregnant person that works there.  Anyway, I'm just going to try to get a note on Monday since we'll be at the doctor's office anyway.  I'm sure they'll give me one since just last week they told me I should get a flu shot.  It's just another hassle.
On a less frustrating note :)  we are leaving for Oklahoma tomorrow!  We're going to my brother's & I'll get to see my niece for the first time (she was born in August) plus my parents, grandma, great aunt & uncle, aunt, & cousins will be there, plus their kids...which would be like 1st cousins once removed or something like that.
AND THEN...we come back on Monday just in time for my doctor's appointment where we (*fingers crossed*) will get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl!!!  Plus it's always fun getting to see our baby :)

15 Weeks (+ 2 days)!!

We had an appointment today with my doctor & it went well.  Little Baby's heartbeat was in the 140-150 range (so...boy or girl?  although I've heard that's not very accurate at predicting gender).  We had to wait quite a while for the doctor because she had to go deliver a baby (like that's more important than my appointment!  sheesh.  j/k :D)  Oh, and the results from our 1st trimester screening were all good.
P.S.  Everyone keeps telling me I'm not showing & don't have a belly...but I do, I promise!  (Probably doesn't help that pretty much all I wear is scrubs & t-shirts)
