It's almost December!!

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!  I had to work, but it wasn't too bad.  We went to Plains on Thanksgiving Day after I got off work.  Yay for good food!  Diana kept patting my belly.  It was cute.  She also keeps telling me that if I go past the 21st of March & have the baby on the 31st, it'll be on her birthday, which she thinks would be cool.  I was born on my cousin's birthday, so who knows, maybe we'll start a new tradition :)
I'm now at 24 weeks (& 1 day!).  Only about 16 more weeks to go!  We went & registered for baby stuff at Target & Babies R Us yesterday (aren't you proud, Melanie?)  Let me just say that I think there are far too many baby products out there.  You decide what you need & then there's like 50 billion brands/versions/styles, etc.  Hopefully we registered for at least some of the stuff we'll need (since we are clueless first time parents!)  Oh, we also decided we're going to try cloth diapering.  We're going with the Flip brand because they have cloth inserts or disposable inserts, which we think would be handy on long trips & such.  We'll see how that goes, lol.
So...tomorrow is December...crazy!  I can't believe this year is almost over.  It's been quite the year.  It is getting sooo cold here.  There were rumors of snow.  I would not be happy (unless it's one of my days off, then it'd be fine!)

22 weeks!

Well, we are 22 weeks today!  We had an ultrasound today & it went well.  Kiley is still a girl! :)  Everything looks good with her (I'm going off of what the doctor & ultrasound tech said...I don't know what we're looking at half the time!!)  They check the babies out pretty good (which is very impressive to me since Kiley is like 15 oz...almost a pound!)  They showed us her kidneys, brain, spine, heart, bladder, belly, arm & leg bones.  It's amazing to me how what started out as a little blob is now a little person!  We didn't really get any good pictures so I'm only posting one.  She had her hand in front of her face the whole time.  We decided she's either shy or didn't feel prepared, so Brad said he'd give her a pep talk before the 3rd trimester ultrasound (in January...hard to believe it's almost 2011!!)

I Hate Stuff

So, every once in a while I get in the mood to get rid of everything we own.  It is really tempting.  I hate clutter & excess & I hate being wasteful.  It makes me feel better to get rid of things we've had forever & never/rarely used.  That's what I did last weekend.  We have too much junk.  I got rid of a TON of stuff out of our office (aka junk room).  We had papers from forever ago, craft stuff that I know I will never use, and lots of other stuff that's been given to us for whatever reason.  But, now most of it is gone (or at least will be soon) & the staying stuff is properly organized.  Ahhh...I can breathe again :)

21 weeks

So, I am 21 weeks today!  Only 19 more to go (which feels like forever, by the way!)  We have another ultrasound next Monday, so hopefully everything still looks good with Kiley (and hopefully she is still a she!LOL).  I've been able to feel her move a lot more.  Apparantly she likes Reese's Pieces (can't blame her there) & 3:00 a.m. (she was moving around like crazy...I'm sure that will be fun when she gets even bigger!haha)  I made some curtains this weekend!  Well, just one.  :)  Still need 3 more for the other window, just had to do a practice one.  Oh, and the black curtain rod will be replaced with a white one probably.  We are leaning towards green & pink for wall colors.  The crib will probably be white & the bumpers I like are cream & pink (they go up & down on the slats), and they are reversible so you have a lot of possibilities.  Gotta wait till Brad builds it to decide!

The Questions

So, being pregnant kinda reminds me of being engaged, since everybody likes to ask lots of questions.  So, in case you were wondering, here are the answers to the top questions:

1)  Yes, I am still going to work after Kiley comes.  I get 12 weeks of maternity leave & then Brad will start his full time stay-at-home dad duties!

2)  Yes, I am okay with Brad being the one to stay home.  We decided that together, actually a long time before we even got pregnant.  I have no problems leaving my baby with her parent.  It's what works for us & I don't mind teaching Kiley to do what is best even if it's not what everybody else is doing.  (I think it's funny when people find out Brad's gonna stay home & then ask me if I'm okay with that....I wish I had some really sarcastic answer for that.)

3)  No, we haven't done anything with her room yet.  First we have to clean out our office & move the guest bed in there & then the guest room we have now will turn into Kiley's room.  Seriously, people, there's time...it'll get done :)  We do know that we're doing a Storybook/Nursery Tales theme for her room.  (See below for pictures)   We're still debating paint colors...

4)  Yes, we are going to find out what we are having (guess you already figured that one out!LOL)

Almost halfway there!

So, we are almost halfway there!  I'm 19 weeks this week.  Here is the latest picture of the belly:

I promise it looks bigger in real life!  Everyone keeps telling me I'm not showing at all, so apparantly I always have the little pooch going on!LOL  My niece told me I'm starting to look bigger, so that settles it, because she just says what she is thinking.  Actually, in maternity clothes I do look more pregnant...some kind of optical illusion or something...

I'm starting to feel Kiley move around.  It's pretty cool.  Sometimes I'm not sure if it's her or just some wierd stomach rumbling (hey, this is my first time having a little person rolling around inside me...I'm not entirely sure what it's supposed to feel like!LOL)

I had a dream last night that we had another ultrasound & Kiley was most definitely not a girl!  The next ultrasound is Nov. 15, so I'll let ya know :)  My next doctor's appt. is right before Thanksgiving...it's almost Thanksgiving time again!!  crazy!  I can't believe I'm almost to the 1/2 way mark too.  crazy!  I'm thankful for each day that I wake up pregnant & each night that I go to bed pregnant.
