31 Weeks

Well, as you can see, we are both growing steadily!  Lots of people have told me that I started showing overnight.  I don't know about that, but okay :)  We start going to the doctor every 2 weeks now.  The only concern (which isn't really a concern yet) is that Kiley is breech.  She's still got time to turn though, so hopefully she will.  I think she's just really comfy :)  The official estimate is that she'll be around 7 pounds when she's born.  Our childbirth classes are going really well.  We're learning a lot & I'm glad we're taking them.  Brad is making progress on the crib (yay!!)  He also got the room all painted & I finished the curtains, so at least she'll have a cute room to come home to!

We had our 3rd trimester ultrasound today!  Since everything's going well, it's our last one unless something comes up that needs to be checked out.
First...she is still a girl!  And for all those people that like to remind us how they get the gender wrong sometimes (especially with girls), we have had very clear pictures of her girl parts so I'm telling you, she's a girl!!
Second...she is measuring right on track.  For all the people who like to comment that I don't look big enough, yada yada yada...you are wrong.  She's still got ~10 weeks in there...give it time & I'm sure I'll look miserable :)
Third...here are the pictures!  Kiley is still camera shy.  She had her hand in front of her face the whole time & would not move it despite the ultrasound tech creating an earthquake in my belly.  She did start moving her hand between a fist & open palm...it was so cool!!  She's so talented :)

Still Around...

So, I haven't posted in awhile, but we are still doing good!  Here's a quick update of what's been going on with us:

• Had a doctor's appointment a couple weeks ago.  Everything looked good.  I was measuring exactly what I should be (so for all you people who say I'm too small, you are wrong!)
• I turned 27.  Happy birthday to me!
• We had Christmas with Brad's family & with mine.  My parents stayed with us for about a week & my brother's family was there for a couple of days.  It was a lot of fun!  Kiley sure got a lot of presents & she's not even born yet!
• I took (& passed!) my glucose screening test.  And my HIV test, in case you were worried :)
• I am now in the 3rd & final trimester, and it's 2011...the year we'll have our baby!
• We started our prepared childbirth classes last night.  They last for 5 weeks.  I'm really glad we're going cuz I'm pretty clueless & scared about all that!!  We toured Labor & Delivery, which was kinda wierd cuz the only other time either of us has been there was when I had my D&C before we knew my first pregnancy was ectopic.  I'm glad to have much happier reasons to be going there now :)

Well, there you have it.  We have another ultrasound & appt. in about 2 weeks.  Can't wait to see how she's grown & what she looks like now.  I start going for appointments every two weeks after that.  AAAAAH!  We're gonna have a baby!!

26 Weeks

Well, we've made it to 26 weeks!  Hard to believe it's only 14 weeks (give or take) till we get to meet little Kiley!
Brad & I's 5 year anniversary was last Friday.  It doesn't seem like it's been 5 years.  In some ways it feels like less & in some ways it feels like more (but not in a bad way!)  I don't know what I'd do without him.
Today is my last day off until Christmas Eve.  I've got family coming down, so that's exciting!  I'm glad to be pregnant during the holidays...it makes time go by faster!  Just a couple of weeks & I'll be in the 3rd trimester...crazy!  We still have a lot left to do in her room before she comes, but even if it doesn't get done, I don't think she'll mind :)

Christmas is here?

So, I don't know how it is in other parts of the country, but in Lubbock people have had their Christmas stuff up for at least a week or two now.  I feel so behind!  I am hoping to get my Christmas decorations up this weekend.  Really, though, it is only December 3!!!  It seems like right after Halloween all the Christmas stuff went up.  Crazy!
In case you were wondering, it's 1 week until Brad & I's anniversary & 19 days until my birthday :)

It's almost December!!

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!  I had to work, but it wasn't too bad.  We went to Plains on Thanksgiving Day after I got off work.  Yay for good food!  Diana kept patting my belly.  It was cute.  She also keeps telling me that if I go past the 21st of March & have the baby on the 31st, it'll be on her birthday, which she thinks would be cool.  I was born on my cousin's birthday, so who knows, maybe we'll start a new tradition :)
I'm now at 24 weeks (& 1 day!).  Only about 16 more weeks to go!  We went & registered for baby stuff at Target & Babies R Us yesterday (aren't you proud, Melanie?)  Let me just say that I think there are far too many baby products out there.  You decide what you need & then there's like 50 billion brands/versions/styles, etc.  Hopefully we registered for at least some of the stuff we'll need (since we are clueless first time parents!)  Oh, we also decided we're going to try cloth diapering.  We're going with the Flip brand because they have cloth inserts or disposable inserts, which we think would be handy on long trips & such.  We'll see how that goes, lol.
So...tomorrow is December...crazy!  I can't believe this year is almost over.  It's been quite the year.  It is getting sooo cold here.  There were rumors of snow.  I would not be happy (unless it's one of my days off, then it'd be fine!)
